Skilled Recognised Graduate Visa (Subclass 476) is an 18-month temporary visa for recent engineering graduates from overseas universities indicated on the list of universities specified by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).

Eligibility

  1. Completed within the last 24 months prior to submitting an application a degree or higher qualification in engineering at an institution specified by DIBP.
  2. Must satisfy English requirement, e.g IELTS overall 6 with at least 5 on each band.
  3. Have not held either a Subclass 485 or Subclass 476.
  4. Must be under 31 years of age at the time of the application.
  5. Must be under 31 years of age at the time of the application.
  6. Can be inside or outside Australia at the time of the application.

Conditions

476 Visa is a temporary residence (TR) visa valid for 18 months. Condition 8502 (must not enter before a specified person) and/or Condition 8515 (must not marry before entering) may be imposed on the visa.

Pathway to Permanent Residence

Skilled Recognised Graduate Visa is an 18-month temporary residence visa allowing students who have recently graduated overseas to obtain the required work experience to apply for permanent residence in Australia. While on a Skilled Recognised Graduate Subclass 476 it may be possible to apply for other visas, if eligibility criteria are met, including:

  2. Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (TSS Visa - Medium Term) 
  3. Skilled Independent Subclass 885 - (Permanent Residence)
