Leading Hand Mechanical Fitter - Hydraulics & Pneumatics
Location: Luscombe, QLD
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay Range: $55 - $60 per hour + super (negotiable for the right candidate) Equivalent to approx. $110,000 - $125,000 per annum + Super
A well-established industrial workshop is looking for a hands-on Leading Hand Mechanical Fitter to join the team at its Luscombe facility. This is a practical, on-the-tools role suited to a fitter who enjoys leading from the front, getting stuck in, and keeping the workshop running smoothly.
You'll be working shoulder-to-shoulder with other qualified tradespeople, taking charge of daily jobs, helping the team get work done safely and efficiently, and being the go-to person for hydraulics, pneumatics, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day workshop jobs while remaining hands-on on the tools
- Strip, repair, assemble, and fault-find mechanical equipment
- Work extensively with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Allocate jobs, guide team members, and keep work moving
- Respond to breakdowns and support preventative maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
- Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and company standards
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter
- Solid, practical experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Previously worked as a Leading Hand or senior fitter, or ready to step up
- Comfortable leading a small team while still doing the work yourself
- Good fault-finding skills and a practical, common-sense approach
- Reliable, safety-focused, and proud of your workmanship
