ABOUT THE POSITION

The ideal candidate will possess robust experience in civil and geotechnical engineering, coupled with construction management expertise. Someone who excels in fieldwork, collaborates effectively with design engineers during construction and operation, takes initiative in leading project teams, and maintains outstanding client relationships.
The chosen Project Engineer will spearhead a construction team for a significant tailings dam project.
 
In this leadership role, you will have the chance to:
 
  • Draft, review, and update construction documents, including specifications and contract drawings.
  • Offer insights on construction methodology, planning, sequencing, site and quality management, and other construction-related aspects.
  • Supervise the entire construction process to ensure adherence to design, budget, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, technical consultants, design teams, contractors, and construction delivery teams to devise solutions and address technical challenges.
  • Coordinate and oversee field operations.
  • Foster and nurture strong client partnerships.
  • Regularly track and report project advancements.
 
Essential Criteria:
 
  • Holds a degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
  • At least 5 to 10 years of Construction Management experience in Mining or Civil Infrastructure projects
  • Registered or qualify for RPEQ (Registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland)
  • Practical expertise in Civil Infrastructure construction projects.
  • Eagerness to expand your technical proficiency and professional expertise.
  • Familiarity with pertinent engineering design standards, codes, best practices, and technical references.
  • Strong English communication skills, encompassing proposal writing and technical report creation.
  • A collaborative spirit, interpersonal finesse, and the capability to cultivate enduring, successful client relationships.
