Proposed Updates on Skilled Migration Occupation Lists

vertical-align: middle

The Department of Employment, Skills and Small & Family Business has launched its Traffic Light Bulletin, which lists a range of skilled visa programs that are employer-sponsored, points-tested & state-nominated.

To meet the skill needs of the Australian economy, the bulletin lists proposed updates to occupations included on the Short-term Skilled Occupation List, Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List and the Regional Occupation List.

As this may affect your business in its ability to sponsor overseas applicants in future, therefore I would like to make you aware of the most recent proposal to update the various skills lists.

Please be advised that the Traffic Light Bulletin is for consultation purposes only. It does not represent a decision of Government.

What to Do

If any of occupations you wish to hire/sponsor is on the lists, we suggest you make representations as a business or through your industry bodies.

The public consultation period is now open until 12 February 2020 and we would like to invite you to submit your feedback.  Visit the Department’s website to send your submission.

For more information, please read the Submission Guidelines.
