National Skills Commission Announces Emerging Jobs

National Skills Commission (NSC) recently identified Emerging Jobs to help ensure Australians have the knowledge and skills for developing jobs and build a skilled and flexible workforce in demand today and in the future.

Selected occupations were based on JEDI (Jobs and Education Data Infrastructure), a pioneer on skills-based labour market analysis.

The NSC uses insights from the JEDI project (Jobs and Education Data Infrastructure) that identify transferable skills and how skills are changing in the labour market using traditional and real-time methods.

Emerging jobs are the new and regularly advertised occupations which are different from the roles listed in the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO).

NSC has recognised and validated the following 25 emerging occupations within seven categories in the Australian labour market.

It’s important to note that the list does not cover all roles in Australian and NSC will continue to monitor and analyse emerging trends.
