Electric Engineering Draftspersons and Technicians worked in most parts of Australia. They primarily work in Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services; Construction; and Professional, Scientific and Technical Services. Common duties include: 

• prepare illustrations, plans and diagrams of electrical installations and circuitry

• help Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the layout and design of electrical installations and circuitry on substations, switchgear, cabling systems and motor control systems

• gather information, perform tests and calculations, graph results, and prepare charts and tabulations
