Duties
review drawings, specifications and work areas to determine connections and positioning for the equipment to be installed
identify faults in telecommunications equipment using ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters and transmission measuring equipment
attach wires and cables to appliances
adjust, replace and repair faulty items, and testing equipment using electronic instruments
install cabling for telephone, radio, pay TV and computer transmission
set up, test and maintain aerial and underground wires and cables, and radio and mobile phone antennae
set up telecommunications equipment and appliances such as telephones, switchboards and data transmission equipment
