Joiners operate wood machining equipment to create window frames, door frames, timber stairs, aluminum doors and frames and other products.  Minimum requirements for joiner include diploma, relevant experience and registration. Common duties include:

• fit items for future installation by carpenters 

• build specific fittings or furniture like staircases, kitchen cabinets and shelving units 

• create timber frames

• cut and shape wood

• repair and maintain doors, door frames, windows etc

• work with metals, plastic laminates and perspex
