What Skills Shortages?

Konnecting has a competitive advantage over regular migration agents or regular recruitment agents. Combining both services we are exposed to the reality of the situation in Australia. We recently advertised 2 positions. One accounts assistant, and one was Civil Engineer. The result from the traditional advertising methods were astonishing. For the accounts assistant we received over 250 applications, while for the Civil Engineer we received only 7. Of the 7, only one was born in Australia, and he didn't meet the criteria. Of the 250 applicants for the Accounts Assistant, most were also born overseas. So what does this tell us about the Skills Situation in Australia? In Konnecting experience skills shortages are rife, and employers need to look overseas to fill the highly skilled positions.
