New SOL Gazetted Jun 23, 2010
On 23rd June, 2010 the Minister for Immigration Chris Evans gazetted (passed to legislation) the new Australian Skilled Occupation List (SOL) to affect Subclasses 175, 176, and 475. We await the new Points Test to be able to apply to individual situations.

Engineers & GSM Changes Jun 1, 2010
A new list of Skilled Occupations (incorporating ANZSCO codes) has been published in draft form by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) on 17 May 2010 - this is in support of a proposed new Skilled Occupation List (SOL) to be implemented on 1 July 2010. New Points Allocation - same as old May 28, 2010
DIAC has confirmed with the MIA that when the new SOL takes effect on 1 July 2010, and assuming there is not a new points test (which seems increasingly likely), then existing points will be attached to occupations on the new SOL when it comes into effect. Where there is no match DIAC will apply the same rationale as currently applies to the determination of occupation points.

New SOL Announced May 17, 2010
DIAC has announced a new Skilled Occupation List (SOL) for General Skilled Migration (GSM). The new SOL does apply for non-GSM visas, such as ENS, RSMS or Subclass 457.
